The Southeastern WI Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) has posted the draft transportation improvement program (TIP), which is a listing of all arterial highway, public transit, and other transportation improvement projects proposed to be carried out by State and local governments over the next four years (2011-2014) in the seven county Southeastern Wisconsin Region.

The TIP indicates the transportation system improvement priorities of State and local governments in Southeastern Wisconsin by their programming of projects in each of the next four years. The 2011-2014 TIP contains 694 projects representing a total potential investment in transportation improvements and services of $2.93 billion over the next four years. A significant portion of total financial resources is devoted to public transit projects, which account for about $338 million or 35 percent of programmed funding.

The public comment period runs through January 28, 2011 and a public informational meeting will be held on January 12, 2011 from 4:00-6:00PM. It will be an “open house” format and will be held at the Tommy G. Thompson Youth Center, State Fair Park in Banquet Room 1, located at 640 South 84th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
